Most of the work in the vineyard is done by hand. Fermentation is slow and the wines are matured for at least 6 months on their lees. Bottling takes place between 12 and 24 months after the harvest. Domaine Zind Humbrecht produces around 180,000 bottles a year. In vintages such as 2008 and 2010, Olivier Humbrecht makes masterful wines that need a few years to mature and reveal their full potential. He has managed to avoid the pitfall of falling into a race for sweetness by preserving beautiful freshness. As a result, he has raised this family estate to one of the highest quality on the planet, despite the size of the estate. His flagship vintages are countless: from the simple Alsace Herrenweg de Turckeim (very salivating), to the Grands Crus Rangen de Thann Clos Saint-Urbain (very smoky and salty), Clos Windsbuhl (with perfect ripeness), and Brand both in Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris Heimbourg (smoky with great length) or Riesling. You can find other estates in the Alsace and Alsace Grand Cru appellations, such as Domaine Agathe Bursin, Albert Boxler, Albert Mann, André Thomas, Bott Geyl, Ostertag, Schlumberger, Trapet, Trimbach, Deiss and Weinbach, at Vins & Millésimes, where you can buy the best bottles of wine and grands crus online.
