The Grand Corbin Despagne estate makes 3 red wine cuvées: the first wine, "Grand Vin de Grand Corbin Despagne", the second wine, "Petit Corbin Despagne", and the last wine, "Château Laporte". The Grand Vin is powerful and full-bodied, with notes of plum, blackberry and liquorice on a fairly dense body. It can be enjoyed after 6 to 15 years, but can be aged even longer in great years. The quality of this wine has improved remarkably since the late 1990s. Petit Corbin Despagne" (70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc), made from vines aged between 10 and 20 years, offers immediate pleasure from the fruit and supple tannins, and is very popular with restaurateurs. It should be drunk between 3 and 7 years. Finally, Château Laporte is made from the estate's youngest vines. The greatest vintages are: 2015, 2014, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2005, 2001, 2000 and 1998. Lovers of full-bodied, powerful wines will want to buy a few bottles, as the value for money is excellent and not at all speculative, even on very good vintages, which is not common in the Bordeaux region.
