Château Pavie Macquin produces two Bordeaux red wines, the first is called « Grand Vin de Pavie Macquin » and the second « Les Chênes de Macquin ». The Château Pavie Macquin saw a large evolution in the 1980's with the arrival of Nicolas Thienpont as the director. The Grand Vin of Château Pavie Macquin, made from the finest plots, is known for its power and density. It's an aromatically complex wine of fruit (blackcurrant, blackberry and blueberry), minerality, café and smoky oak, capable of ageing 10 to 20 years in exceptional years. The second wine of Pavie Macquin is red fruited, with supple tannins and lighter in colour. More accessible than the Grand Vin, it can be drunk within 5 years, sometimes aging up to 8 in some vintages. The finest vintages for Château Pavie Macquin are 2015, 2014, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2006, 2005, 2003, 2000, 1998, 1990 and 1989. The wines produced at the estate are both of great value for money, especially for a Premier Grand Cru Classé B.
