The wines of Domaine Dominique Laurent
Before devoting himself fully to his passion for Burgundy wines, Dominique was a pastry chef in Vesoul. At the end of the 1980s, he moved into the haute-couture wine trade. Since 2006, he has owned his own 6-hectare estate, which is quite a change from the way he used to make his own wine, simply ageing it. He also has his own cooperage, and his wines are generally very marked by the fact that they are aged in new barrels made exclusively from the Tronçais forest. He has even tried his hand at cuvées with 200% new oak (twice twelve months in new barrels). Dominique Laurent neither fined nor filtered the wines before bottling. His finest parcels include Vosne Romanée 1er cru Les Suchots, Nuits Saint-Georges 1er cru, and grands crus such as Bonnes Mares and Echézeaux.
