Domaine JJ Confuron produces wine in twelve different appellations, including such famous names as Clos Vougeot and Romanée Saint Vivant for the grand crus of Burgundy, as well as Nuits Saint Georges Aux Chaboeufs, Nuits Saint Georges aux Boudots, Chambolle Musigny 1er cru, Vosne Romanée 1er cru, and other village appellations. Sophie Confuron and her husband work the land to produce sublime red Burgundy wines, as well as a number of white Burgundy wines and Bourgogne Aligoté. Confuron's red Burgundies are highly regarded by Burgundy connoisseurs, as they perfectly express the singularity of the climates on which they are produced. Domaine Confuron's nugget is probably the Romanée Saint Vivant, particularly the 2015 vintage: ruby red in colour, the complex nose reveals aromas of flowers, black fruit and spices, offering a full, rich, sensual wine on the palate with a lingering finish. The 2014 Clos de Vougeot from Domaine Confuron, made from two parcels in the upper part of the prestigious cru, is silky and full-bodied on the palate, but still a little reserved, which nevertheless suggests a fine future within ten years. Domaine JJ Confuron's Aligoté and Chardonnay white wines are produced from just 0.6 hectares of vines, but the signature of Domaine Confuron's whites is their ageing in oak barrels, which will integrate over time.
