Jacques Prieur wines have been vinified by Nadine Gublin since 1990, who converted the estate to organic, and has been experimenting with biodynamics since 2012 on the Clos du Mazeray parcel in Meursault. Among these wines, Jacques Prieur's 2014 Chambertin with vines over 50 years old offers a wine with a blackcurrant nose and very precise aromas, with full, intensely ripe fruit accompanied by a present but velvety structure. The Clos Vougeot Jacques Prieur is made from 30% whole grapes, giving it elegance, a floral backbone and great power. The Corton Bressandes has lovely tension and velvety tannins. The Cuvée Echezeaux has a silky texture with great freshness and a subtle, flavoursome energy on the palate. Finally, the cuvée Musigny has subtle floral accents and a structure that combines elegance and thickness. It is built to age well. All these wines have a good ageing potential of between 10 and 20 years. In the white Grand Cru category, Chevalier Montrachet has a delicate attack, before becoming denser and more resilient. The Corton Charlemagne is very saline and iodised on the palate, with a sharpness that is well enhanced by the vintage. It stretches out its deep, invigorating body. The 2015 Montrachet is silky, elegant and powerful. The white wines will keep for between 10 and 15 years. Note the best white vintages: 2014, 2012, 2010, 2008, 2005, 2002. Domaine Jacques Prieur is rated 4 out of 5 stars by Bettane et Desseauve.
