Since the French Revolution, the Larmandiers have always participated in the renown of the Cote des Blancs in Champagne with their famous Cramant Blanc de Blanc Nature cuvee. The Larmandier-Bernier brand was founded in the early 1970s by Philippe Larmandier. He took over part of the Larmandier Pere & Fils family estate located in Cramant to which he added the vines of his wife Elisabeth Bernier located in Vertus. In 1988, their son Pierre took over the Larmandier-Bernier estate and developed it towards more rational agriculture. Indeed, he prefers to plow the parcels rather than weeding them. The Larmandier Bernier estate has been certified in organic farming and biodynamics since 1999. In the meantime, the estate has grown with 4 hectares of additional vines located in Vertus. Today, the farm has 17 hectares of vines in the municipalities of Cramant, Chouilly, Oger and Avize, including 15 hectares in white (Chardonnay) classified Premier Cru and Grand Cru and 2 hectares in red (Pinot Noir).

The harvest is manual and the grapes are picked at optimal maturity. The wines are vinified in oak casks without yeast. Champagnes from the Larmandier Bernier estate are good value for money. Indeed, in view of the exceptional quality of certain vintages, the prices do not soar. Among these cuvees, the Longitude 1er cru extra brut cuvee offers a beautiful aromatic purity and remarkable salinity. The cuvee Terre de vertus Blancs de Blancs is more complex and exotic with notes of white fruit, spices and dried fruit. The palate is well balanced, fine and creamy. The Latitude Blanc de Blanc cuvee extra brut has a very pleasant fruity flavor with tender and fresh bubbles. Finally, the Vieilles Vignes du Levant Blanc de Blanc Grand Cru expresses a beautiful aromatic complexity with a lot of minerality reminiscent of chalk but also brioche and candied lemon notes. The estate has pinot noir vines in the Cote des Blancs and produces a rare Coteaux Champenois rouge in good years and a rare Larmandier Bernier rose de saignee with aromas of raspberries and small red fruits in a fruity and gourmet style.
