However, it has encountered a number of difficulties linked to pollution in the estate's vat room, which led it to abandon three vintages: 1999, 2000 and 2001. Today, the estate covers 25 hectares planted mainly with red grapes: 23 hectares (syrah, grenache noir, mourvèdre and carignan) and 2 hectares of white grapes (rolle, viognier and roussanne). The estate produces around 35,000 bottles a year in the Coteaux du Languedoc appellation. Marlène Soria makes a range of four cuvées: one white and three reds, all certified organic. The wines are matured for a very long time, then aged in the bottle before being sold. They also have very good ageing potential, 20 to 25 years for the reds. Among the white cuvées, the Peyre Rose Coteaux du Languedoc Oro is aged for almost 10 years in vats and then in bottle. The nose is floral with hints of dried fruit. The palate is full-bodied with lingering aromas and is slightly oxidative, not to everyone's taste. The red Peyre Rose Clos des Cistes in the Coteaux du Languedoc appellation has lovely aromas of blackcurrant and exotic spices. This wine can be kept for around twenty years. The Peyre Rose Syrah Leone is another charming red wine. The nose is spicy with pretty notes of red fruit and the palate is velvety with notes of truffle and coffee. A marvellous wine to discover at Vins & Millésimes.
