The vines are cultivated using sustainable methods. Yields are low (30 to 40 hl/hectare) and the grapes are harvested by hand. The entire estate is organic. Fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts, and some vintages, such as the Côme Autrefois Le Mourvèdre, have no added sulphur. The style of the wines is quite woody and sometimes marked by a Bordeaux touch. With 35,000 bottles a year, the Scamandre Renouard estate is showing that it is capable of producing top-class wines to rival the greatest. There are several levels of the range: Scamandre grande réserve in white and red, Scamandre in the Costières de Nîmes appellation is a blend of Carignan and Syrah with a wild nose and a powerful, lively palate with good acidity and a spicy finish, Côme formerly made from pure Carignan and pure Mourvèdre, and excellent value vintages are also produced in the Les Terrasses d'Hortense range in red, rose and white. Domaine Scamandre also offers old vintages for sale, such as Scamandre 2009 and Scamandre 2012, demonstrating the estate's capacity for ageing.
