With 12 Grands Crus to its name, this 12-hectare Burgundy estate planted on limestone and clay-limestone soils is vinified as an organic vineyard but prefers to retain its independence and freedom of operation. Surrounded by prestigious neighbours such as Clos de Tart, Clos des Lambrays and Domaine Arlaud, it boasts 12 Burgundy Grands Crus! Laurent Ponsot, the former director of Domaine Ponsot, shook up the wine world in 2008 when he exposed the dishonest practices of a forger.

Clos de la Roche stands out in 2014, with a wine of great style, exceptional sensuality and an assertive, racy minerality. A great red wine from Burgundy, rated 19/20 by the Bettane & Desseauve guide. Also in 2014, Chapelle Chambertin stood out with its expression of black fruit, a dense, serious and elegant body, in which the imprint of the terroir is strongly expressed. Rated 18/20 by the Revue des Vins de France. As for the 1er Crus, the 2013 Chambolle 1er cru les Charmes is quite dense and robust for a Chambolle Musigny, with a spicy nose and dense body, while the Morey St Denis 1er cru les Alouettes will be particularly appreciated in 2014. The best-known vintages are 2015, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2005 and 2002.

When it comes to white Burgundy wines, Domaine Ponsot has two Grands Crus de Bourgogne. The Corton Charlemagne and the Montrachet, which in 2011 has an expressive, elegant nose of stone fruit. On the palate, a remarkable wine, with honeyed notes on the attack, very concentrated, with good power and very good acidity that balances the wine. A very long finish, a superb wine with great potential.
