In 2014, the Grands Crus of the Philippe Charlopin estate stood out, in particular the Chambertin, with delicate notes of blood orange, a very accomplished texture and superb construction, making it a complete wine, both powerful and very fine, with a very good score of 19/20 in the Bettane et Desseauve guide. The Mazis Chambertin 2014, from the upper part of the cru, has very fine tannins, an airy wine with mocha flavours. An aesthete's wine, very mineral. As for the 2014 Echezeaux, it's an earthy, powerful, muscular wine with a delicately saline finish. Domaine Philippe Charlopin also produces two 1ers Crus, a red, the Gevrey Chambertin 1er cru Bel Air, which in 2013 reveals a fine woodiness, a creamy texture and a very fine breed, in conclusion a wine of great character, and a white, the Pernand Vergelesses 1er cru sous Frétilles, which stands out in 2010, a frank, lively wine, with well-integrated woodiness, thirst-quenching and mineral, as it should be. The Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru in 2010 is characterised by subtle toasty notes, taut, quite racy, with style and length. It can be kept for over 10 years. In reds, the wines of Charlopin Parizot are mostly described as concentrated and woody, and the estate's most popular vintages are 2015, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2005 and 2002.
