The grape variety of choice for white wines from Savoie (70% of the total production of wines in Savoie) is Jacquère, an indigenous grape variety. The red wines are mainly made from Mondeuse, but also from Beaujolais grape varieties, such as Gamay or Burgundy, Jura and Alsace, with Pinot Noir. Savoy also shares one of the flagship white grape varieties of the Rhône Valley: Roussanne, which makes up one of the best Crus of the region, Chignin Bergeron.
Sparkling wines are also produced from Aligote, Chardonnay, Marsanne (King of the Hermitage grape variety), etc. Taste without hesitation the white and red wines from the best Savoie areas: Belluard, Domaine Blard & Fils, Domaine des Ardoisières, Dupasquier, Gilles Berlioz ... and discover the most beautiful vintages of white and red wines from Savoie: 1989, 2005 and 2009, followed by 1980, 1996, 2002, 2010 and more recently 2016 and 2018.
