Wine 1947

An extremely warm year in Bordeaux, producing very ripe wines that were sometimes a little warm, and sweet wines with lots of mellowness. Pomerol and Saint Emilion were particularly successful. It was also a great year for red Burgundy and an exceptional one for the Loire, with some outstanding sweet wines.
