The vines are cultivated on terraced clay-limestone soils. These hillsides are bathed in Mediterranean sunshine. Since 2013, the vines have been cultivated according to the biodynamic viticulture principles. Harvest is done manually, and Domaine Tempier produces about 200,000 bottles a year: four red wine cuvees, one white, and one rose. Among them, Tempier's Red Bandol Cuvee Classique is made from Mourvedre, Grenache, Cinsault and some old Carignan grape varieties. It is a balanced and fruity wine. Tempier's Red Bandol Cabassaou cuvee is a rare wine that is made from mourvedre, cinsault and syrah. It's got an intense black colour. The nose is full of violet and black fruit notes. This wine is full of complexity, thanks to spicy flavoured tannins that are very supple on the palate. Among the young red Bandol vintages, you should go for 2014 and 2015, while 2004 is a very good choice for the old ones. For the white wines, Tempier produces a Bandol Blanc cuvee, made from Clairette, Ugni-blanc, Bourboulenc, and Marsanne. This wine shows beautiful light colours. It's a very mineral cuvee, very crisp, with flowers and fruit flavours. Finally, the Bandol Rose cuvee, made from Mourvedre, Grenache, Cinsault, and Carignan, is a well-balanced wine that greatly pairs with Provençale cuisine.
