In fact, Cécile Tremblay is the great-niece of Henri Jayer, and in 2003, at the age of 26, she set up on her own, using a heritage of vines acquired from her grandparents. The entire Cecile Tremblay estate is farmed organically, and much of the soil is worked with a plough horse. A skilled winemaker and unrivalled taster, Cecile Tremblay has quickly established her style after a number of perfectly successful vintages, and is now one of the leading estates on the Cote de Nuits. With extreme care, the grapes from the vineyard are harvested in 5 kg mini crates, sorted and vinified as whole grapes. The style of Domaine Cécile Tremblay wines is based on finesse, an airy, sensual quality with velvety textures. The precision of the finish and the finesse of the aromas are exceptional.
