In 1978, Axa millésime bought the estate. Domaine de l'Arlot shines not only with its Pinot Noirs, but also with its Chardonnays, which are very rare in the Côte de Nuits. The range is completed by 2 climats considered to be the pearls of the Domaine de l'Arlot: Vosne Romanée 1er Cru "Les Suchots" and the famous Grand Cru Romanée Saint Vivant. In total, the Domaine de l'Arlot wine range comprises 9 wines, including five Premiers Crus and 1 Grand Cru. Certified organic in 2013, biodynamic viticulture has also been practised in the vineyards for almost 10 years. Christian Seely and Géraldine Godot have set their sights on excellence for Arlot, with the following philosophy: "The vine is the centre of a natural balance and life can begin again. The best way to express the purity of the wines lies in the exacting care given to the vines". In recent vintages, Domaine de l'Arlot's wines have shown themselves to be delicate, elegant, deep and racy, and they have made further progress in terms of definition. The Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Clos de l'Arlot Blanc is complex and fruity on the palate, and its energy makes it a harmonious white Burgundy with character. The Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Clos des Forêts St Georges, whose parcel is situated on a bank of small pebbles just above the bedrock, is broad and full-bodied, long and full-bodied, yet fine. It needs at least 7 years to develop its full potential. The more muscular Nuits St Georges 1er Cru Mont des Oiseaux is deep, powerful and saline on the palate. Vosne Romanée 1er Cru les Suchots is taut and elegant, developing smoky aromas. It is refined, complex and long on the palate, with sensual stone fruit flavours. The illustrious Grand Cru Romanée St Vivant from Domaine de l'Arlot has notes of faded rose and peony, and its finesse and tension on the palate develop into a very long finish, just as you would expect from such a prestigious Cru. Keep for at least 10 to 15 years. Note that the best red vintages in these appellations are 2015, 2012, 2010, 2009 and 2005. Domaine de l'Arlot is now one of the leading names in Nuits and Vosne.
