Domaine Jasmin is located in the famous commune of Ampuis in the Rhone department, not far from the great estates such as Guigal and Gérin. Patrick Jasmin, who joined the family estate in 1978, succeeded his father Robert Jasmin, and now represents the fourth generation of JASMINs on the estate. Now at the head of almost 6 hectares of vines, spread over 11 parcels in the Côte-Rôtie appellation, Patrick Jasmin practises sustainable, traditional viticulture, as all the work on these steep slopes is carried out by hand, without mechanisation. The result is low yields on this terroir, 95% of which is planted with Syrah and 5% with Viognier (authorised in the Côte-Rôtie AOC).

Vinification is carried out on a parcel-by-parcel basis and is gentle. Patrick Jasmin focuses on aromatic finesse rather than power. The result is elegant, supple wines with a very fresh, distinguished aromatic palette that expresses the full character of his terroir. The wines are matured for a long time (around 24 months), with a delicate touch. Domaine Patrick Jasmin produces very elegant Côte-Rôtie red wines, which can be considered models of the expression of this magnificent terroir. The estate's wines are very pleasant to drink young, but have excellent ageing potential. Domaine JASMIN's Côte-Rôtie "La Giroflarie" epitomises the typical character of this terroir, with a fruity, mouth-watering nose offering a palette ranging from ripe red berries to cocoa and sweet spicy notes. On the palate, the wine is delicate, with wood that is present but integrated, and fine, silky tannins. The wine is much more about finesse than power. Elegant and supple, with a superb range of fresh, distinguished aromas, less concentrated but with good length, this Côte-Rôtie will come into its own at the table, with supreme elegance. Depending on the vintage, Côte-Rôtie will age well for 10 to 15 years. In addition to its Côte-Rôtie cuvée, Domaine JASMIN also produces the IGP des Collines rhodaniennes cuvée "La Chevalière" made from Syrah grapes. "La Chevalière" has a smoky nose, with a lovely depth of black fruit, and is dense on the palate with a soft, fruity finish. A fine accompaniment to a meat dish.
