The range is large and representative of their diverse terroirs. Vincent Rapet produces wines in a modern style of which 5 are premiers crus of Pernand Vergelesses ("Clos du Village", "En Caradeux", "Sous Frétille", "Ile de Vergelesses" and "Les Vergelesses") and 3 Pernand Vergelesses Village ("les Combottes", "Devant les Cloux" et "Belles Filles"). They also have a Savigny les Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Fourneaux" and 4 Beaune 1ers Crus ("Bressandes", "Cent Vignes", "Clos du Roi", "Grèves"). Finally is their Aloxe Corton village and 3 Grands Crus, the superb Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru and in red the Corton Pougets" Grand cru and “Le Corton" Grand Cru. Considering the quality of the wines of the Domaine Rapet, the prices are still reasonable. But for how long? To make good wines one needs the best grapes and Vincent Rapet does everything in his power to achieve that such as by applying the "lutte raisonnée" principles to reduce to a minimum the photosynthetic treatments used on the vines (the Domaine Rapet is certified Haute Valeur Environnementale), and focusing on manualwork in the vines (debudding, palissage, effeuillage) in order to offer a maximum of natural sunlight to the grapes and maximise ripeness. Vincent Rapet seeks quality over quantity and his wines are aged in 350 litres barrels so oxidation is limited to a minimum and the wines retain their natural minerality. The Rapet Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru displays the flinty character of its terroir. A beautiful golden color, it is large, heady and full-bodied, yet pure, precise and with harmonious fruit. The final extends to a delicately fresh and salty finish, a genuine gustative pleasure. Such a wine attains maturity only well after 7 to 10 years, only then will it fully display its aromatic richness of honey, grilled almonds and its exquisite mineral aspect. The Corton Pouget Grand cru is of a deep purple. Large, its bouquet expresses notes of blueberries, redcurrants, cherry brandy and violettes and with age the wine evolves towards notes of forest floor, spices and liquorice. Solid and rich, the Corton Pougets is powerful, full-bodied, structured, demonstrative with a rich and firm body, it needs anywhere from 5 to 9 years to begin to flourish. The large range of wines of the Domaine Rapet is of particular interest to those in search of well-made wines and great value for their money.
