Six emblematic Grands Crus of Burgundy are produced by Armand Rousseau estate: Chambertin, Charmes Chambertin, Chambertin Clos de Beze, Ruchottes Chambertin, Mazy Chambertin, and Clos de la Roche. Armand Rousseau’s wines are concentrated and elegant. They are aged in barrels for more than 20 months, with 2 rackings. Their ageing potential of the Grands Crus is more than 20 years, and more than 15 years for the Premiers Crus. The Rousseau Chambertin 2014 has been particularly successful, it got the high scores of 19.5/20 (Bettane & Desseauve) and 19/20 (RVF). It’s even nicknamed "King Chambertin in its majesty". This wine was aged in 100% new barrels. It’s a full-bodied, distinguished, bold and elegant wine. As for the Rousseau Charmes Chambertin 2014, it is a wine that, beyond its apparent smoothiness and fruitiness, shows a very good ageing potential. The estate produces some of the most revered Gevrey Chambertin Premiers Crus wines in the world, such as the Gevrey Clos St Jacques, which, in the best vintages, can easily reach the level of the Grands Crus, as for instance the 2014 one which is described as a very sappy, spicy, distingueshed, straight and deep wine: a lot of adjectives to describe this 2014 vintage! The most renowned vintages of the estate are: 2015, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2005, and 2002.
