The Domaine Mortet produces red Burgundy for aging, more refined and less oaky than in the past, in particular concerning the estate's four Burgundy Grands Crus: Bonnes Mares, Mazis-Chambertin, Chambertin and Clos de Vougeot. Acclaimed in 2014, the Chambertin reveals bewitching aromas of great Burgundy: smoky, almost saline and of great finesse. A must at Gevrey. That year it was rated 20/20 Bettane and Desseauve and 19/20 by the Revue des Vins de France. The famous Clos de Vougeot was also appreciated in 2014. Admittedly, the plot is not the best situated, but it is one of the most successful of the vintage. It's a wine of violets and finesse, absolutely splendid and of immense length, rated 19/20 by Bettane and Desseauve and 18.5/20 by the RVF. The cellaring period of these Grands Crus is over 15 years, particularly in the 2015, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2002 vintages. The estate also has four 1ers Crus including the Gevrey-Chambertin 1ers crus "Lavaux-St-Jacques", "Champeaux", and a Chambolle-Musigny 1er cru "Aux Beaux Bruns". There are also several Burgundy appellations such as Fixin as well as a white Burgundy.
