All the wines from Clos Vougeot, Burgundy
In the town of Vougeot, south of Chambolle Musigny in the Côte de Nuits (Burgundy), the Clos Vougeot grand cru covers 50ha and is owned by 80 owners. It is divided into 3 very distinct sections: the top, next to Musigny and Grands Echezeaux, on a well-drained limestone and gravel soil, gives the most sought-after wines. The middle part extends over a steeper and softer slope with limestone and clay soils. The lower part, on a flatter clay soil, is more favorable to water retention and so less optimal than the top part. The Clos Vougeot wines are robust and powerful, with notes of black fruit, mint and liquorice. Among the best producers, Meo Camuzet, Anne Gros and Rene Engel can be point out.
