The wines of Domaine du Comtes Lafon : purchase at the best price !
The Comtes Lafon estate covers just over 16 hectares planted with Chardonnay in the villages of Meursault and Chassagne Montrachet, and Pinot Noir in the villages of Volnay and Monthélie. Managed by Dominique Lafon, the Comtes Lafon estate has been biodynamically farmed for over 15 years. The white and red wines are aged for between 18 and 22 months and fined before bottling. The reds are aged in 30% new oak. Domaine Lafon has only one Grand Cru parcel, the most prestigious of all: Grand Cru Montrachet. On the other hand, it owns a large number of Meursault wines (including Clos de la Barre) with a majority of Meursault premiers crus: Meursault Charmes 1er cru, Meursault Goutte d'Or 1er cru, Meursault Porusots 1er cru, Meursault Bouchères 1er cru, Meursault Genevrières 1er cru, Meursault Perrières 1er cru. The Volnay wines are also of particularly high quality, with Volnay 1er cru Champans, Volnay 1er cru Clos des Chênes and Volnay 1er cru Santenots du Milieu.
The wines from the Domaines Dominique Lafon and Héritiers du Comte Lafon
Dominique Lafon is repeating his style through his two other productions in Burgundy: Héritiers du Comte Lafon, an estate which magnifies the wines of the Maconnais region. And more recently, he has been making a name for himself through an unusual wine merchant business (which bears his name "Dominique Lafon"), for which the grapes come from land he owns or from leased plots. The wines are made to the same exacting standards as those of the Comtes Lafon estate. It offers new opportunities to taste the Lafon style, while the Domaine Comtes Lafon wines are very popular with wine lovers.
