Located in Touraine, the Bourgueil vineyard covers 1,400 ha. It is located half on the hillside overlooking the Loire, whose soils are made of tuffeau (chalk from the Turonian) and on terraces of sand and gravel. Its red wines, produced from Cabernet-Franc and to a lesser percentage from Cabernet-Sauvignon (limited to 10%), have a bright red color, with violet reflections, aromas of peppers, blackcurrant, raspberry, licorice and cocoa for the elderly. Tannic and often austere in their youth, their aging potential is significant (up to 20/30 years for greatest one). The best producers are Yannick Amirault, Bel Air, Breton, Des Ouches, La Butte, La Chevalerie etc...
