South of Nimes, on 4,033 ha, extends this designation of Cotes du Rhone sud, which produces 75% red wines and 25% white wines. The reds are produced mainly from Grenache, which must represent at least 25% of the blend, from Carignan, the proportion of which decreases in favor of Syrah and Mourvedre, the latter two each representing at least 20% of the blend . These sunny wines are concentrated, opulent and warm, the quality of which is improving year after year, thanks to dynamic producers, such as the Chateau of Amarin, Beck, Nages, Mas de Bressades, Scamandre Renouard...
