All the wines from Beaune, Burgundy
The Beaune designation covers 357ha, of which 274Ha are Beaune Premier Cru. Limestone soil at the top of the Cote de Beaune, marls down, and at the bottom of the hill, limestones mixed with clays, well-exposed (from east to south) between 220m and 300m of altitude, it produces mainly Burgundy reds based on Pinot Noir grape variety, which in the north of the town are more intense and powerful while they are more subtle and round in the south. The most popular Beaune vineyards are Les Greves, Les Bressandes, Les Teurons, Les Avaux and Les Champs Pimont. Beaune Grèves includes the parcels of Vigne de l'Enfant Jesus (owned by Bouchard) and Beaune Boucherottes le Clos des Ursules (owned by Louis Jadot). Clos des Mouches (owned by Joseph Drouhin) is another highly sought-after Beaune Premier Cru. The city of Beaune is the home of some of the most important Burgundian negociant, such as Louis Jadot, Joseph Drouhin, Louis Latour, Bouchard Pere & Fils.
