Established in Moussy near Épernay, Domaine Tellier traces its roots back to 2016 when brothers Julien and Quentin Tellier took over the family estate. Their story is woven into a viticultural heritage of eighteen plots situated on mid-slopes, primarily on chalky soil spread across five villages.
The domain occupies a privileged location between the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs, with plots on mid-slopes spread across five villages. Each plot, based on its location, topography, and soil structure, represents a distinct micro-terroir. Two types of soils stand out: those of Moussy and Pierry, characterized by a dominance of pinot meunier, and those of Chavot, Fontaine-sur-Aÿ, and Cramant, bringing elegance and minerality to the wines.
The Tellier Domaine's terroir is characterized by two distinct types of soils:
Moussy and Pierry - The historic Conardins domain: Dominated by pinot meunier (59%), followed by chardonnay (35%), and a touch of pinot noir (6%), this terroir offers deep soils on a chalky bedrock, imparting structure, power, and length to the wines.
Chavot, Fontaine-sur-Aÿ, and Cramant: These small plots, with shallow soils on an exposed chalk, mainly contribute elegance and minerality to the wines.
The domain prioritizes a natural approach to vine cultivation, trusting nature as an unpredictable yet well-orchestrated conductor. Research, observation, and rigor form the pillars of vineyard work. The modern cellar facilitates work while preserving wine quality. Vinification, carried out on-site, emphasizes real parcel work with a 6000 kg press. Aging takes place in oak barrels, with 100% wood vinification.
The domain offers a range of cuvées faithfully reflecting the unique terroir identity. Clear wines are vinified separately, thus preserving terroir diversity. Flagship cuvées include l’Or Faivre Blanc de Meuniers Extra Brut, L’Aguerrie Réserve Extra Brut, Les Champs de Romy Blanc de Blancs, Les Perles du Paradis Extra Brut Rosé, and Reflet Naturel Blanc de Noirs. In addition to these cuvées, exclusive editions are created based on the vintage. All Champagnes are vintage-dated, mature on lees for 40 months, and are lightly, or not at all, dosed. Tasting reveals elegance and tension, making them ideal companions for gastronomic dishes.
