The value for money / pleasure is extraordinary with Beaujolais wines. You will find colorful, delicious, juicy red wines. Beaujolais arouses enthusiasts and the great merchants of Burgundy (Joseph Drouhin, Louis Latour, Bouchard ...) and the Rhône settle there to take advantage of the excellence of the terroirs. So much so that the Burgundians sealed their union with the creation in 2011 of the AOC Coteaux Bourguignons, which extends from Burgundy, South of the Mâconnais, to Beaujolais.
Far from the new Beaujolais, this is the return of the Beaujolais from gastronomy, with great aging potential, elegant, complex, digestible, with this fruity characteristic of Gamay. With Champagne and Bordeaux, Beaujolais has become the most famous French vineyard in the world. The great Beaujolais winegrowers have become iconic: Marcel Lapierre, Foillard, Dupré, Jean Claude Lapalu, Yvon Metras, Château des Jacques (property of Louis Jadot), Jean Marc Burgaud, Joseph Chamonard…
Beaujolais has recently given rise to very great red wines, as in 2009 and 2015, with rich, generous, perfectly balanced red wines. These Beaujolais anthology vintages are close to the 1959 and 1969 vintages. More silky, opulent, 2011 is an exceptional vintage, like 2003 and 2005. With more freshness, we find the late 2013 vintage, but also 2006, 2010 and 2014, giving structured, elegant wines, with delicate fruit on a superb length in the mouth.
