The history of the Maison de Champagne Krug, based in Reims, is rich in history and audacity. In fact, Joseph Krug (born in 1800), a curious and gifted young man, wanted to enter the world of Champagne at the start of the 19th century. It was then that he took his first steps in Maison Jacquesson, one of the most prestigious at the time. He observes, learns and it was in 1843 that Maison Krug & Co officially appeared, and Joseph Krug then had an explosive idea in the world of Champagne, he wanted to produce the best Champagne every year, no matter what the weather. During the years, Joseph Krug acquired a large quantity of reserve wines, this is how, from its creation, the Maison de champagne Krug became the first and the only House to make only prestige Champagne, and this every year.

Joseph Krug widened his range of champagne, by creating a second cuvee, his vintage Champagne: created "according to the circumstances"; it then reflects the history of a year of production, its singular character and it is not systematic. You will have the chance to find on the market extraordinary vintages like 1988, 1995, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006. You will also be lucky to find rarer and older bottles, adored by all Krug Lovers: the cuvee de Champagne Krug collection made from vintages: 1981, 1982, 1985, 1988, 1989 and 1990.

Several generations of the Krug family have followed one another and the Maison of Champagne has become iconic worldwide. The Maison of Champagne Krug has grown in splendor over time: acquisition of Clos du Mesnil in 1971 (it will be necessary to wait until 1979 for the grapes to reveal their most beautiful expression and to be entirely intended for a fragmented cuvee Champagne Krug Clos Du Mesnil). Appearance of Krug Champagne Rose in 1983 then the acquisition of the extraordinary parcel of Pinot Noir in Ambonnay in 1994, giving birth to the all-so-sumptuous Grand Cru Champagne Krug Clos d'Ambonnay 1995, marketed for the first time in 2007.

After six generations, compared to his vaste success House Krug remains a human size champagne House; limiting the number of bottles produced in order to offer remarkable quality on each of its Krug cuvees, the beauty of which lies in the patience, the understanding and above all the time. Maison Krug's reserve wine library is impressive: some 150 wines, from 10 to 12 years old, even 15 years All Krug lovers will tell you, this Champagne nectar is a secret that we all want to know and which lies in the individuality of each parcel.
