The Champagne Deutz house was founded in 1838 by William Deutz, and remained in the family for 1 and a half centuries until its acquisition in 1993 by the Louis Roederer house (Rouzaud family, who also owns the Pichon Comtesse Chateau from Lalande to Pauillac in the Bordeaux region, as well as Domaine Delas in the Rhone). The Deutz house is located near Epernay, in Ay, the birthplace of Pinot Noir. The emblematic cuvees of the house Deutz are: Amour de Deutz, William Deutz, Champagne Brut blanc de blancs vintage, and of course the "Brut Classic", which alone accounts for almost 85% of the total production of Champagne Deutz.

With a superb heritage of vines, Deutz ensures (through its own vineyard and contracts with partner winemakers at 80% in Grand Cru or Premier Cru) a quality of supply and a flawless production to produce more than 2 million bottles per year. The Deutz house offers quality white champagnes, fine, precise and distinguished; given the volume produced and the fairly wide range, the homogeneity of the entire production is remarkable, from the Deutz Brut Classic to prestigious cuvees like Champagne William Deutz, Amour de Deutz or the Hommage a William cuvee Deutz. The Brut Classic is very typical of Pinot Noir, but remains elegant and digestible. The "Rose Classic" plays in a crunchy register of red fruits, with precise length, vinosity without heaviness and a beautiful tension : a top quality Champagne rose !

2009 vintage “Amour de Deutz”  is full and sunny  with milky touches. Round and precise, with notes of zest, its finish and depth are exemplary. The 2009 William Deutz vintage Champagne is a real success (like 1999, 2002, 2006). Very precise in texture, the fruit is racy and very long. With a long, sapid and saline finish, its persistence is exceptional. The William Deutz rose in its best vintages can border the genius of a very great champagne at the peak of its maturity and fullness. Its refinement is a real delight, to be reserved absolutely for special occasions. Under the leadership of its President Fabrice Rosset, the Maison Deutz seems to be continuing on its way to the top of Champagne production and we can only recommend its wines.
