The history of Perrier Jouët

Perrier Jouët was founded in 1811 by Pierre-Nicolas Perrier and Rose-Adélaïde Jouët, two entrepreneurs with a passion for Champagne, nature and art. Together, they began to cultivate vines, paying close attention to every detail. They studied and identified the enormous potential of Chardonnay in Champagne, particularly in the Côte des Blancs. Pierre-Nicolas and his son Charles were botanists. When Charles took over the business in 1848, he perpetuated the family values of creativity, art and the omnipresence of nature.

A fine example of this magnificent Champagne house's affinity for Art Nouveau is the emblematic Japanese anemone, designed by Emile Gallé in 1902. This flower, well known to Champagne lovers today, is the symbol of the Belle Epoque cuvées.

In 2020, Séverine Frerson became the eighth head cellar master in the history of the House, the first woman to hold this role.

Champagne from the House of Perrier Jouët

Perrier Jouët produces 3 champagnes: Grand Brut, Blanc de Blancs and Rosé. Each cuvée is available as a "Belle Époque" vintage.

Perrier Jouët Grand Brut is harmonious and floral, a blend of subtle aromas and flavours that perfectly illustrate the House's heritage.

Perrier Jouët Blanc de Blancs is a lively, spontaneous champagne with clean citrus notes and floral flavours. This highly emblematic cuvée is a tribute to Chardonnay.

Perrier Jouët Rosé is a delicate, floral champagne that is powerful and round on the palate, but retains the delicacy that is the house signature.
