An historic winery of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation and founded in 1840, the Domaine Ferret is located in the heart of the most famous "climats" of the Fuissé amphitheater in Burgundy. Thanks to the precise study of each terroir with the aim of singling them out and vinifying them separately, the domaine long ago gained a following. This method, decided by Jeanne Ferret, resulted in the classification of the wines of the Ferret estate into 2 groups: Tête de Cru and Hors Classe. In the same way, the wines of the Ferret estate were bottled at the estate early on, not common at the time, his daughter, Colette Ferret, continued in this direction by emphasising barrel ageing. In 2008, Maison Louis Jadot acquired this magnificent 18 ha property and entrusted its management to Audrey Braccini, an expert and talented winemaker. Of the 18 ha of vineyards of Domaine Ferret, 13 ha are directly located in the amphitheater of Fuissé and 4 ha around the Roche de Vergisson.
The Ferret estate can thus propose a range of high quality wines, with a large proportion of old vines and low yields. Their range is articulated around 3 types of labels: the simple and generic cuvées of Ferret Pouilly-Fuissé, Pouilly-Fuissé "Autour de la Roche", Mâcon-Fuissé, Mâcon-Solutré and St-Véran. Then, the 3 cuvées of Ferret Pouilly-Fuissé "Tête de Cru": "Clos des Prouges", "Clos and Perrières". And finally, 2 cuvées of Ferret Pouilly-Fuissé "Hors Classe": Pouilly-Fuissé "Les Ménétrières", and Pouilly-Fuissé "Tournant de Pouilly". The wines are generous and powerful, benefiting from a superb minerality drawn from the soil diversity of Fuissé. These great Chardonnay offer notes of ripe white fruit, delicate on the palate, enveloped by elegant oak and subtle nuances of toasted almonds. The wines of the Ferret estate are some of the finest of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation and today rank among the best white Burgundy. 2020 saw the birth of the official INAO classification of Pouilly-Fuissé Premiers Crus, we can only praise the visionary spirit of Domaine Ferret, one of the pioneering domains in the classification of the best terroirs of the AOC Pouilly-Fuissé
