The Champagne Marie COURTIN estate is located in Polisot, in the Aube department, and has 2.5 hectares of vineyards in a single block. The main grape variety is pinot noir. Dominique Moreau, who owns this Champagne estate, which has been farmed organically and biodynamically (since 2007), wanted to name it after her grandmother, as a tribute.

Note that the Marie Courtin champagnes address is shared between Dominique Moreau, and the Piollot père et fils champagnes (which are managed by her partner, Roland Piollot). Dominique Moreau is a talented winemaker, and her cuvées are highly reputed, but rare because only around 20,000 bt are produced here each year. The range is short and superb, with the Marie Courtin Cuvée Résonance Extra Brut, which is a pure, fresh and very mineral Champagne, with delicate aromas of fresh fruit and a subtle touch of chalk. On the palate, the wine is deep and rich, with good acidity and a deliciously mineral finish.2017 Marie Courtin Résonnance Champagne is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, with a fine, airy nose of fresh red berries and white fruit. On the palate, this Marie Courtin champagne is invigorating, with very light, fairly vibrant bubbles: the perfect companion for an aperitif. Champagne Marie Courtin Présence Extra Brut is made with 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Blanc, for a Champagne without added sulphites. A traced cuvée with a great personality and long finish, only 1700 bottles are produced: a true Champagne de Prestige. Cuvée Concordance 2016 is a 100% pinot noir champagne, with no added sulphite. A great Champagne with a golden colour and extra fine bubbles, with deep, natural scents of apple, vine peach and elderberry. On the palate, this Champagne Marie Courtin is full and flavoursome, with a fine but excellent tension on the finish. A wine for meditation, to be enjoyed without moderation. The Marie Courtin Eloquence 2016 Champagne cuvée is 100% Chardonnay, with no dosage, and is the perfect example of a Champagne cuvée capable of satisfying all your guests, with aromas of yellow peach, apple, quince and victoria pineapple. On the palate, the candied citrus fruit and honey are delicate. A real success. Finally, Marie Courtin rosé champagne is a saignée rosé (increasingly rare), so it is more colourful and has a more racy character. Marie Courtin is an address for connoisseurs, to be discovered or enjoyed discreetly, given the limited volume of production.
